Ever wanted to strum a guitar and sing along to a song you’ve always wanted to play?
Did you buy a guitar when you were younger and never really got to play it, because you were simply too busy, work got in the way, or your family did?
Maybe you started to play but the tutor wanted you to learn music theory so you gave up, or perhaps you didn't feel he/she was teaching you what you wanted?
Well, Silverstrummer could be what you’re after.
Guitar lessons to suit someone who simply wants to have a play around and a strum on a guitar to knock out a few tunes either on your own or for when people come 'round for a beer. Maybe you and a few friends want give it a try and strum along together?
Well, Roy Begernie (aka 'Torchie') is a local self-taught guitarist who fell in love with the instrument at age 14 and never fell out.
He never learned music theory, but has been in and out of successful pub bands, played to packed audiences and written some lovely tunes. After leaving his 'day job' in 2010 he now has time to teach you either in his home studio or at your own home, at times and at a pace to suit you.
Next to his love of guitar, Roy loves to teach, and over the years a number of people have benefited from his completely informal teaching style.
It doesn’t matter how bad or how good you think you are or how good or bad you want to be, he loves to teach anyone who simply wants to play for fun and get pleasure from having a strum.
Lessons are £25 an hour, although students will tell you that a clock isn't involved, particularly if there's Budweiser nearby or you suggest going to his local after :)
